私が初めてイギリスに行った時のことです。
”You alright?”
私は思いました。「Are you alright?=大丈夫？」って聞いてるのかと。
日本人の頭の中には、英語の挨拶は”How are you?”がまず出てきますよね？
正直それしか出てこないと言ってもいいかもしれない。('д` ；)
なので、”Yes, I'm alright.” と返事をした訳なのですが。。
実はこれ、イギリスでは挨拶表現の一つなんです。
カジュアルな言い回しですが、誰でも使う温かい表現なので覚えておいてくださいね。

So if someone asks you "Are you alright", the most natural reply to this would be "Yes I'm alright, how about you?"
Tip: Remember to try not to focus too much on the words themselves, and try to focus more on the way they are said.
