We are delighted to invite you to Asaho Kamiya’s first solo exhibition outside Japan, held at CHONTEA & CO. in Ubud, Bali.

Based in Toyama, Japan, ceramic artist Asaho Kamiya creates unique works through her distinctive techniques and expressive use of color.

We invite you to experience the rich textures, delicate details, and unique world of her works in person.

“Silver Sea”

This tea bowl is shaped by stacking and building up long, slender coils of clay.

The exterior is finished with silver, creating a soft, gentle glow that shifts beautifully with the light. Inside, shades of blue and vermilion overlap and unfold across the surface, revealing a rich and expressive depth.

The quiet shimmer of silver on the outside and the vivid colors within create a beautiful harmony of stillness and vibrancy in a single tea bowl.

During the exhibition, we will present a special matcha tea ceremony, offering guests the opportunity to experience Japanese tea culture while enjoying Asaho Kamiya’s works.

富山を拠点に活動する陶芸家・神谷麻穂さんの、海外では初となる個展を、バリ・ウブドのCHONTEA & CO.にて開催いたします。

独自の技法と豊かな色彩表現によって生み出される、唯一無二の作品たち。

神谷麻穂さんの作品が持つ豊かな質感や繊細な表情、その独自の世界観を、ぜひ実際に手に取って感じていただければと思います。

「銀の海」

細長い紐状の土を積み上げるようにして形作られた茶碗。

外側には銀彩が施され、光を受けることで柔らかく穏やかな輝きを見せます。
一方、内側には青と朱の色彩が重なり合い、深く豊かな表情を生み出しています。

外側に広がる銀の静かな輝きと、内側に広がる鮮やかな色彩。
ひとつの茶碗の中に、静けさと華やかさが美しく共存する作品です。

神谷さんの美しい茶器を楽しみながら、お抹茶を味わい、作品についてのお話を聞き、日本の茶の湯が持つ静かな美しさに触れていただく時間です。

また、神谷麻穂さんご本人にもお会いいただけます。

During the exhibition, I will prepare matcha using Asaho Kamiya’s tea ware in a special Ryurei Matcha Ceremony.

Enjoy a bowl of matcha while discovering Asaho’s beautiful tea ware, hearing stories about her work, and experiencing the quiet beauty of Japanese tea culture.

You will also have the opportunity to meet Asaho Kamiya herself.

We are delighted to present a solo exhibition by Japanese ceramic artist Asaho Kamiya, hosted at CHONTEA & CO. in the beautiful and culturally rich surroundings of Ubud, Bali.

For this special occasion, Asaho Kamiya has created beautiful tea bowls, tea containers, and other tea utensils, which will be presented at the venue.

Kamiya’s works are characterized by delicate and elegant forms, adorned with motifs inspired by flowers, plants, and the beauty of nature. Her exquisite pieces beautifully express the harmony between traditional Japanese aesthetics and a contemporary sensibility.

CHONTEA & CO. is a beautifully curated space dedicated to tea, food, and the art of living. With its refined atmosphere and thoughtful approach to tea and cuisine, CHONTEA & CO. also shares and introduces the beauty of Japanese culture to the world.

Matcha has been gaining increasing attention around the world, not only as a wellness drink, but also as an important part of Japanese culture. CHONTEA & CO. goes beyond introducing matcha as a beverage, sharing with its guests the culture, traditions, and beauty that surround it.

It is a special opportunity to experience the beauty of Asaho Kamiya’s work in a place where Japanese culture, art, tea, and the rich natural beauty of Bali come together.

During the exhibition, Asaho Kamiya herself will be present at the venue, offering visitors a special opportunity to meet the artist and hear directly about the stories and inspiration behind her work.

MATCHA EXPERIENCE

On August 16 and 17, we will also offer a special matcha experience using Asaho Kamiya’s tea utensils.

I will prepare and serve matcha using Kamiya’s beautiful tea bowls and tea utensils, creating an intimate experience where you can enjoy both the beauty of her work and the quiet elegance of Japanese tea.

Each session will include:

• Matcha prepared and served using Asaho Kamiya’s tea utensils
• An introduction to the artist and her work
• One matcha beverage
• One dessert pairing
