人間の鎖 ‘Baltic Way'

アール・ヌーヴォー建築が残るエリアは、人も少なくて落ち着きます。

We can see many Art Nouveau architecture in Riga. It's not busy here.

ヴィリニュスの宿で首から胸にかけて、虫に５０ヵ所くらい刺されたんです。跡が残ってしまいました。

スタッフにも

「それどうしたの！？」

って言われちゃいました。こんなに跡が残るなんて、トミかダニかなと。なので対策として３ユーロで服を買いました。

I was bitten by something on neckline more than 50 times... Do you believe it?

That's why I'm really happy... TO DEATH.

By the way, three Baltic States look peaceful.

Before I came here, I had thought a Soviet atmosphere remains somewhere until now. But I can't feel that.

I'm pretty sure these belong in EU. They achieved the freedom!!

バルト三国は、ヨーロッパで最も平和です（個人の感想です）

私、もう少しソビエト感があると思ってたんですけどね。コーカサス三国みたいに。

むしろヨーロッパ色の方が強くて、それだけ独立を願ったんですね。

さっき歯磨こうと思って洗面所のドア開けたら、中年親父が脱いでるとこに出くわしてしまいました。

A while ago, in hostel, I opened the door of bathroom brushing teeth. I had met a naked old man at the moment...

実は私も、モロッコで見られはしなかったですが、シャワー中に開けられたことがあるという笑。　

カギがないホステルは、お互いの信頼関係がすべてですね。

Actually I was opened by another guest while I was taking a shower in Morocco because it was without bathroom's key...

But this situation was no problem, just opening a door, the guest didn't see me.

There is a big market near bus terminal.

でもここはウズベキスタン・レストランなので、何て言うのか分かりません。

人間の鎖「バルトの道」

１９８９年８月２３日。

ソビエトの支配下にあったリトアニア、ラトビア、エストニアは当時地図にすら載っておらず、長きに渡ってソビエトからの独立を訴え続けて来ました。

その三国が一つになり、誰も傷つけることなく平和的に行ったデモこそが、人間の鎖と呼ばれる「バルトの道」なのです。

各国の首都ヴィリニュス、リガ、タリンを２００万人以上の手でつなぎ、１５分間の巨大な鎖を築き上げました。距離にしておよそ６００キロ。

世界最大の人間の鎖。
ユネスコ記憶遺産です。

Human Chain 'Baltic Way'

On 23, August, 1989

People had hoped freedom from the republic of the Soviet Union.

More than 2 million people joined a peaceful demonstration.

They held each other's hand. Their wish made a great human chain that was 675.5 kilometres across Estonia,Latvia, and Lithuania.

It was the biggest Human Chain and is UNESCO's Memory of the World.
