「A Charlie Brown Christmas」の動画とともにお楽しみいただけます。

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing は、ラストシーンで子供たちが合唱します。

「A Charlie Brown Christmas」は、1965年のクリスマスに初めて放送されて以来、多くのみなさんに愛され続け、現在に至るまでの5５年間、アメリカで、毎年クリスマスシーズンに欠かさず放送されてきました。

主人公のCharlie Brownが、クリスマスの本当の意味を問い続けるというストーリーです。

劇に使うために選んだクリスマスツリーを皆に笑われてしまうCharlie Brownですが、ラストシーンはとても心温まります。

O Christmas Tree

Allow me to introduce to you one of my favorite songs.

It is O Christmas Tree.



When you see a Christmas tree, you would notice that there is a star at the top of it. The star represents the Star of Bethlehem.

It is said that, when Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, a bright star appeared over the town.



Three wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, seeking for the Messiah. By the guidance of the light of the star, they could arrive at the birthplace of Christ, worshiped him, and presented gifts.



The Star of Bethlehem at the top of Christmas tree reminds us of this episode on the birth of Christ.

The episode became the basis of custom to present gifts to children on Christmas Day.

クリスマスまで１ヶ月となりました。今回は、クリスマスソングをご紹介させて下さい。

O Christmas Tree です。

クリスマスツリーをご覧いただくと、一番上に星が飾られていることに気付かれると思います。この星は、「ベツレヘムの星」と呼ばれています。

2000年前、イエス・キリストがベツレヘムで生まれたとき、街の上に、輝く星が現れたとされています。

救世主を探して、エルサレムに到着した東方の三賢人は、その輝く星の導きで、キリストの元に辿り着き、キリストを崇め、贈り物を届けることが出来たとされています。

クリスマスツリーの一番上にある「ベツレヘムの星」は、我々に、このエピソードを思い出させてくれます。

このエピソードが、クリスマスの日に、子供さんたちにプレゼントを贈る習慣の元になりました。
