Governor Kuroiwa of the Kanagawa prefectural government of Japan provided three townhall meetings on the Kanagawa Smart Energy Vision in cities of the Kanagawa prefecture in November.
After I returned from the United States on November 8th, I had opportunities to attend the 2nd and the 3rd town hall meetings.
At the townhall meetings, Governor Kuroiwa provided a presentation on the Kanagawa Smart Energy Vision. He emphasized the importance of energy storage and community solar.
Renewable energies go hand in hand with energy storage, which will make energy supply stable and enable renewable energies spread widely.
Community solar enables the people living in shaded or rented houses to go solar, which will widen installations and mitigate their feeling of inequality.
After the governor's presentation, a question & answer time was given. Lots of excellent questions, comments, and proposals were expressed from the attending Kanagawa citizens.

１１月、神奈川県政府の黒岩知事が、神奈川スマートエネルギー構想に関し、県民との対話の広場を、相模原、小田原、横浜の3カ所で開催しました。
私自身も、11月8日にアメリカから日本に来て、2回目と3回目の対話の広場に参加することが出来ました。
対話の広場では、知事から神奈川スマートエネルギー構想に関して説明がありました。知事は、蓄電と市民ファンドによる太陽電池設置の重要性を強調していました。
太陽光発電や風力発電は、昼夜の日照差や気候、季節による変動の影響を受け不安定なので、蓄電による出力の平準化が重要です。
また、市民ファンドによる太陽電池パネル設置は、日当たりの良くない家や集合住宅に住む方々も出資出来るため、太陽光発電のすそ野を広げ、不公平感の解消にも役立ちます。
参加した県民のみなさんからは、非常に優れた質問、コメント、提案が行なわれました。
