Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou surprised the world by indicating that he would call for referendum on the EU’s bail out deal that was just struck on October 27th.
The referendum, if conducted, may invalidate the Great Deal of October 27th because the majority of Greek people are supposed to be opposing to the bail out plan and austerity measures.
However, the communiqué of the Great Deal of October 27th actually included a massive solar project called Helios under which Greece would construct 10 GW solar firms and repay her debt by selling the electricity to the Northern Europe. The project is to attract up to 20 billion euro and create 60,000 jobs.
If the viability of the Helios solar project is explained and shared among the Greek people, the majority of the Greek people are expected to support the Great Deal of October 27th.
Therefore, what is important is to spread and share the significant meaning of Helios solar project among the Greek, among the Europeans, and among the world.
At this moment, it is still unknown whether Greece would really conduct referendum. However, with or without referendum, the Greek people should behave responsibly for EU and the world.
And, EU and the world, in return, should provide strong financial, technological, and material support to Helios solar project so that Greece will not only overcome her economic crisis but present a model of the economic growth based upon renewable energies.
Then, new civilization and new democracy will start once again from Greece. This time, based upon solar power.

仮にヘリオス太陽光発電プロジェクトの有効性がギリシャ国民に説明され、浸透すれば、ギリシャ国民の過半数が２７日の合意に賛成する可能性があります。
したがって、大切なことは、ヘリオス太陽光発電プロジェクトが持つ重要な意義を、ギリシャ国民、ヨーロッパ、そして、世界に広め、共有することであると思われます。
現時点では、ギリシャが本当に国民投票を実施するか否かは未確定です。しかし、国民投票が実施されるにせよ、実施されないにせよ、ギリシャ国民は、EUと世界のために責任ある行動を取ることが求められます。
一方、EUと世界は、ヘリオス太陽光発電プロジェクトに対し、財政的・技術的・物質的に、手厚い支援を提供し、ギリシャが経済危機を克服、再生可能エネルギーに基づく、経済成長のモデルとなるよう助けることが求められます。
そのときこそ、新しい文明、新しい民主主義が、再び、ギリシャから生まれることになります。今回は、太陽エネルギーに基づきます。
