The 7th meeting of the Kanagawa solar project study group was held at the Kanagawa prefectural government building in Yokohama-city, Kanagawa prefecture, Japan on October 12th, and the quick report of the discussions was made public.

According to the quick report, the main subject of the discussions was promoting community solar in the Kanagawa prefecture.

As the Kanagawa government’s budget is limited, they are expecting that the Kanagawa people would provide money to establish a citizens’ fund to install solar panels to the rooftops of government facilities and private factories and so on.

The Kanagawa government is going to examine such issues as follows:

a. How to design the basic financial scheme of the citizen fund

b. How to manege the risks relating to the finance and how to explain them to the kanagawa people

c. What are the role of the Kanagawa government

d. How to encourage the Kanagawa people to participate

e. How to effect the matching of the fund and and the facilities to be installed with solar panels
