HSBC UK has set an ambitious target to appoint the same number
of women as men to senior manager roles, as high-street lenders
come under mounting pressure from the government to tackle the stark
gender imbalance in finance.
The bank said that it was aiming to have half of its 5,500 senior
management roles across its UK business occupied by women
─ although it has not set a deadline.
