kimura88honyaku様 に教えていただいた、単語を推測して読む方法を早速使ってみました。
これは、単語を括弧でくくって、肯定的な意味か否定的な意味かという観点から意味を推測し、辞書で調べるという方法です。

(1) inextricably
These two devices are (inextricably) interrelated.
→interrelatedという語句との結びつきなので「密接に」と解釈しました。これは正解でした。
正確には以下のような意味となります。
if two or more things are inextricably linked etc, they are very closely related and affect each other
(by OALD）
(2) factor into (in)
The macro economy has to be (factored into) the firm's plans and expectations for the future.
→ factor＝要因なので、「要因となる」というような意味かなという解釈をしましたが、これは間違っていました。
factor something in の意味は以下のとおりです。
to include a particular thing in your calculations about how long something will take(by OALD)
factor in(into) は考慮する、計算に入れる、という意味です。
※ なお、factor（動詞）には、数学用語で「因数分解する」という意味もあります。
(3) epitomize
This research (epitomized) the translation of this planning orientation to the strategic conduct of business.
→epitomizeは何度も目にする単語ですがなかなか覚えられません。 showとかrevealという意味で解釈しましたが△でした。
epitomizeの意味は以下のとおりです。
to be a very typical example of something (by OALD)
「典型例である」という意味で、 exemplify, typify, representなどが類義語です。
＜番外編＞
shelve
The company was forced to (shelve) expansion plans for its factory in US.
→名詞の「棚」（単数形：shelf, 複数形shelves）の動詞形です。文字通り、「棚に置く」という意味はあります。また日本語でも「棚上げする」という言い方をしますが、英語もこの意味でも用いることができます。（上記の文章は後者の意味で使われています。）応用範囲の広い単語の一つと思います。
shelve：to decide not to continue with a plan, idea etc(by OALD)
put off, postpone, suspend などもほぼ同義です。
