Japan striker「日本代表ストライカー」joins「加入」ですよね・・・。
Basel on Monday announced the signing of Japan striker Yoichiro Kakitani from Cerezo Osaka for a reported €2 million fee.
バーゼルは月曜日、セレッソ大阪から日本代表ストライカーの柿谷曜一朗を移籍金200万ユーロで獲得したことを発表した。
announced「発表した」the signingは「署名」でしょうが「獲得」としました。€2 million fee「移籍金200万ユーロ」ですね・・・。
The 24-year-old has been targeted by European clubs since his breakout 21-goal season in 2013, but declined to join Italy's Fiorentina in January.
24歳の柿谷は、2013シーズンで21ゴール挙げブレークして以来ヨーロッパの複数のクラブからターゲットとされていたが、1月にはイタリアセリエAのフィオレンティーナ加入を断っていた。

After making his senior debut for Japan a year ago, Kakitani became a regular starter under Alberto Zaccheroni. But a poor 2014 season, combined with the rise of 1860 Munich attacker Yuya Osako's stock, saw the Cerezo man watch most of Japan’s World Cup campaign from the bench.
一年前に日本代表デビュー後、柿谷はアルベルト・ザッケローニ監督のチームでレギュラーメンバーとなったが、上り調子の1860ミュンへンアタッカー大迫勇也の控えとなった残念な2014シーズン、柿谷はワールドカップの大半をベンチから見ることになった。

a number of players who who can excel at striker直訳だと「ストライカーとして優れたことが出来る多くのプレーヤー」ですかね。even harder「更に」とかなんとか・・・。
Kakitani will greet supporters following Cerezo's match on July 15 against Kawasaki Frontale before flying to Switzerland in time for the new season.
