I always recommend healthy life style of a Japanese monk, waking up early in the morning, proper physical activity, healthy diet and good sleep. Especially for type 2 diabetes, family history of diabetes, obesity, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, increasing age, high blood pressure, and hyperlipidemia make diabetes worse.
A healthy diet including the amount of total calories and eating dietary fiber. Nuts, olive and vesitable oil are also good for healthy meals.
Carbohydrates are very necessary at the initial stage of burning glucose.
I always say that there is no food that a patient cannot eat. The important thing is preventing an excess of calories. and more physical exercise is needed.

精神科医はもっと体のことを勉強すべきだし、精神科医じゃない先生はもっと精神症状が診られるといいのにな~と思っています。
What makes diabetes worse is not only the intake of white rice, or only the excess of total calories, or only the lack of exercise, but these complex environmental conditions and hereditary factors cause people to get sick.
So we should think about the comlpete aspects of a healthy life and only then can we say that there's no royal road to a healthy diet.
