最近、とてもマニアックな品ぞろえの本屋さんで、
Psychiatry ～ A Very Short Introduction ～ OXFORD
を購入し、一生懸命読んでいます。
（まだ日本語の本のようにすばやく読めず「一生懸命」になってしまいます）
その中の一節ですが
We make our diagnosis in face-to-face discussion with patients.
We cherish human variation.
We would hate a world where everyone had the same personality, no over-sensitive individuals, no moody individuals, no brave or brash ones.
There is no consistent cut-off, no absolute distinction between the normal and the abnormal.
というところが好きです。
世界のいろいろなところで、同じような気持ちで頑張っている精神科医がいると思うと嬉しいです。
明日からは
おのどに違和感を感じている、44歳のMs.Schtein さんについて、学んでいきたいと思います。
