As a matter of course, the older people get, the more absent they become at reunions.
Unfortunately, some classmates have already passed away.
Eventually, the number will increase and it will no longer be possible to hold reunions.

However, there are those who are still alive but cannot be contacted, or those who can be contacted but wave a "0" at the "absent" sign on the reply postcard.
Is it because they don't get along with us?

No. There are various reasons and feelings that make people absent.
They are seriously ill...that can't be helped.
Now unemployed...there should be no shame in that at all, but it will be hard to get out.

You committed a crime and became an ex-convict...that will scare people away.
You were the only one who didn't get ahead...that's no good, it's the result of your life.
You just got divorced... should you attend to find a new partner?

Are those who attend and remember and warm up old friendships really happy?
Certainly, we are lucky for each other to have remained alive and in one piece until the day of the meeting.
But after the meeting is over, somehow I feel empty and I don't feel like I gained anything.

The one who was at the top of his class in his preparatory school still mounts up.
They hold the microphone all the time and keep speaking so loudly that you want to cover your ears.
He treats his classmates of the same age as children and goes out of his way to give them a pep talk.

Yes, just like when I was a student. Even though they have grown older, they have hardly changed at all.
They have not evolved much, so we can easily remember who they were.
We just get together with our similarities and comfort each other about our age.

In fact, it is those who are absent from the reunion who are blindingly obvious!
Maybe they still refuse to crowd together in large numbers and are trying something new.
Or maybe they are so unlucky and disadvantaged that they don't want to be seen by their peers.

Tolstoy, the great Russian writer, said.
"The forms of happiness are always the same, but the forms of misfortune are different for each."
Those who don't or can't attend reunions are the ones who are unique and one-of-a-kind! Be happy!

Sorry, I just recently attended a reunion.
