Japanese women of the past, or grandmothers as we call them today, could do many things.
She can cook not only for memorial services, but also various home-made dishes, which is called "mom's taste.

Her cooking is connected to her work in the fields.
Every day she meticulously grows a variety of vegetables in her nearby fields.
Naturally, many of her favorite dishes are made with these vegetables.

A long time ago, people in the countryside used to make their own miso and soy sauce.
The taste of the family was determined by the miso and soy sauce.
Pickles, pickled plums, and plum wine were also often made at home.

Even clothes were made by the mothers in many houses.
Clothes could not be bought easily and cheaply like now.
It was commonplace to patch up children's trousers.

In between the busyness of daily life, they were also making good works of handicrafts,  and arts.
They were exhibited at "agricultural festivals" and such, but the only people who would look at them were local residents.
They may not be artistic or creative, but they are fine enough to display in one's home.

In the past, many Japanese women were poor and lived in inconvenient circumstances.
In order to survive, they learned various skills from their parents and friends, and also devised their own ways.
So they had various skills in cooking, sewing, housework, field work, etc.

In the past, Japanese women were short and usually had crooked hips and legs due to field work.
It would have been difficult for them to buy luxury cosmetics or go to a beauty salon.
The smell of perfume did not waft around her, and she usually reeked of pickles.

Today's women are probably more "educated" instead of lacking various skills.
They can type on a computer, use a cell phone, and their English pronunciation has improved.
They do not say "disco" as "jusco" like their grandmothers did.

But, with all due respect, what will be left of today's women when they grow old?
Well, in this day and age, they no longer need the skills that grandma had.
If you have a certain amount of money, you can buy everything without doing anything yourself.

It is the same for men, but as the world becomes richer and more convenient, each of us inevitably degenerates in a sense~ (>_<)
And when we lose various skills, we also lose our attractiveness.

"Tribulation makes thee a ball."

If you really want to become an attractive person, you have to stick to your own ideas as much as possible, and because of that, you have to be prepared to make a lot of mistakes and get beaten up a lot.
And if you struggle a lot and suffer a lot, will you become as attractive as your grandmothers?
