鶴見緑地公園のアメリカヒドリガモ
アメリカヒドリガモ (American Wigeon Anas americana)
1月の鶴見定例探鳥会の大池にカモ類を観察して
いたら2羽のアメリカヒドリガモがいて、暫らく観察した。
アメリカヒドリガモは新大陸、北米に分布する
カモで日本に渡来する。日本では珍鳥である。
ヒドリガモとアメリカヒドリガモのハイブリッドも
時々見かける。がこれはハイブリッドではなさそう。
よく見ているとなかなか綺麗なカモだ。
American Wigeon (Anas americana)
On third Saturday(19),January '08,Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park
Monthly Birdwatching Tour observed two American Wigeons at
Oike or a pond of the park.
In Japan Eurasian Wigeon is "a dime a dozen",
but American Wigeons are unusual rather remarkable.
The bird is pretty and attractive.
Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park is one of best birdwatchin destinations
in Osaka Pref.The World Flower Show in 1990 was held in
the park.On Third Saturday, Monthly Birdwatching Tour
sponsored by Wild Bird Society of Japan Osaka Chapter
takes place.
The American Wigeon enjoying good relation with Japan.
淀川の"パン クイナ"と呼ばれるクイナ
淀川の「パンクイナ」と呼ばれるクイナ
淀川にクイナがよく姿を見せるポイントがあります。
クイナは用心深い鳥でなかなか姿を見せない。
人の気配で葦の茂みに隠れてしまう。
ところがここのクイナは散歩の人がいつしかパン
屑など投げ与えるようになり、今では人の姿を
見ると現れる。時には餌をおねだりしてコンクリート
の上まで走って足元までやって来る。
クリークの東の端に僅かばかりの葦の茂みを
住処としている。ペットボトルやウォーターレタスが
浮いている上を歩き回り、人が餌を投げると走って
近寄ってくる。人を見ると餌がもらえると期待して
コンクリートの歩道まで来ることもあります。
数年前はヒクイナと共存していたこともあります。
クイナは大阪では冬鳥で好天のときはよく散歩している。
繁殖の時期は北に移動し姿を見たことがない。
Water Rail（Rallus aquaticus) is called
"Bread Rail"or "Pankuina"
There is a point on Yodoriver where a water rail often
comes out of a small reed bush.
Since the bird is very shy and mysterious,we hardly see it.
However this one is exceptional.
People,who take a walk near by,toss the pieces of bread
to see it.the bird, which walks on the floating waterlettuss
and petbottles, suddenly occurs and dashes to the prey.
It is not now afraid of people,and then called "Bread Rail"

謹賀新年
南港野鳥園お雑煮探鳥会
2008年1月3日「南港野鳥園お雑煮探鳥会」に参加しました。
新年の探鳥会にふさわしい晴天に恵まれ、暖かでした。
毎年開かれているお雑煮探鳥会は1983年1月2日の第1回目から
今年で26回目です。しかし、この日本野鳥の会大阪支部主催の
伝統的新年の「お雑煮探鳥会」は本年が最後だそうです。
周りの森に生息する猛禽類が野鳥を追い出し、野鳥の羽数は
極端に少ないが観察した野鳥は総数33種となった。

26th New Year Birdwatching at Nankou Bird Sancturey,
East Asian-Australasian Shorebird Site Network
New year brought a fine weather,it was lovely and warm.
*Zouni, the new year birdwaching is Wild Bird Society of Japan Osaka Chapter's
traditional new year event.(*Zouni: rice-cakes in the miso suop,a traditional new year dish)
This event bigan in 1983 for the first time before the sanctuary opened.
The new year,2008 is 26th and final event.
WBSJ Osaka chapter might have new year event at the another place for 2009.
Rapters,(Northern Goshawk,Eurasian Sparrowhawk) which inhabitat in the wood
around the wetland drive birds out of the sanctury,
However birders observed Osprey,Great Cormrant,Little Greb,Tufted Duck,Mallard,
Shelduck,Dourian Redstart,Shrike,Japanese white-eye.etc.totality 33 species.
