やっぱり茄子が好き！季節外れの苺畑でつかまえた

先日お友達にストロベリーファームに

連れて行ってもらった。

恥ずかしながら

オークランド在住30年にして初めての

ストロベリーファーム訪問である。

今は苺の季節ではないが

そこでは畑で獲れたばかりの

新鮮野菜がお安く買えると聞いていて

一度は行ってみたいと思っていたのだ。

野菜の即売所があるとのことで

私は日本の無人野菜販売所よろしく

道路沿いにその日獲れた野菜を

少しずつ並べて売っている様な

勝手なイメージで行って驚いた。

もうそこは立派なお店と言える規模で

駐車場もたっぷりある。

周りを畑に囲まれた

middle of nowhere 的な場所に

コンスタントに買い物客が来るのも

不思議な光景である。

よくFacebookで見る苺のソフトクリームも

てっきり苺の季節限定のものかと思えば

どうやら年間通して買えるらしい。

１つごちそうになったのだか

甘さ控えめでかなり美味しい。

もう既にまた食べたい。

どのお野菜も畑から直通で

パキパキラ音がしそうなほど

新鮮である。

大好きな茄子もゴロゴロ４～５個入って

3ドル、もうここは野菜の夢の国だ。

野菜の中で一番美味しいのは

茄子だと思う。

焼いて良し

揚げて良し

グリルも良し

漬物にしても美味しい。

洋風・和風・中華

様々な楽しみ方がある。

私は当然茄子を購入した。

近ければ週一位で通いたいくらい

ストロベリーファームのファンとなってしまった。

いつか苺の季節にも行ってみたいものである。

The other day, my friend took me to the strawberry farm. Embarrassingly this was my first visit to this strawberry farm after living in Auckland for 30 years.

It's not strawberry season right now, but I had heard that you can buy fresh vegetables from the place at a low price, so I wanted to go there at least once.

I was told that there was a vegetable stand there, so I was thinking that it's just like Japanese unmanned vegetable stands.

I was surprised when I went there with the idea that they were selling little by little.

It's a large store, and there's plenty of parking.

It is an interesting sight to see shoppers constantly coming to a middle-of-nowhere kind of place.

The strawberry soft serve ice cream you often see on Facebook seems to be limited to the strawberry season, but apparently it can be purchased year-round. It was a feast, but it was not too sweet and quite delicious. I already want to eat it again.

All the vegetables are delivered directly from the fields and are so fresh you can almost hear them crackling. Contains 4-5 pieces of my favorite eggplant for $3, it's a vegetable dreamland.

I think eggplant is the most delicious vegetable.

Good to bake, good fried, good grilled too.

It's also delicious as a pickle.

There are many ways to enjoy Western, Japanese, and Chinese cuisine. Naturally, I bought the eggplants.

I've become such a fan of Strawberry Farm that I would like to go there once a week if it were closer. I would like to go there someday during strawberry season.
