「スリッパ卓球」　Part1

My Zumba friend said, "Would you participate in a table tennis competition?"

いつもZUMBAで一緒にダンシング～しているお友達が言った。

「卓球の大会に参加しない」

「えっ」

"Although it is a table tennis, it is a slipper table tennis.

「卓球って言っても、スリッパ卓球なんだけど」

"・・・what?"

「・・・えっ」

"I don't know very well, but it seems that we play this table tennis competition to use a slipper instead of a racket."

「私もよくわかんないんだけどね

ラケットの代わりにスリッパを使うらしいのよ」

"Whaaaaaat!?・・・Let's try!"

「え～～～～っ　・・・出る」

"Whaaaaaaaaaat!?"

「え～～～～～～～～っ」

So, we decided to participate in the strange competition called "a slipper table tennis".
Because we had confidence without reason that we must be able to play well if we use a slipper.

というわけで

卓球が得意なわけでもないのに

「スリッパなら何とかなるのでは」

という根拠のない自信のもと、我々「スリッパ卓球」なる謎の大会に出場することにいたしました

Actually, there is an official slipper for this competition.

ちなみに「公式スリッパ」というのがあるのです

We must use this slipper.

コレ以外は使えません

It changes by the material of the bottom of a slipper how to fly.

スリッパの底の素材で、飛び方が変わります

Of course, there is an official table for a slipper table tennis.

もちろん公式の卓球台もあります

At first, we thought that this competition would be held in the nearby and small parking lot.

もともと私たちがゲットしていた情報では、近所の駐車場で（ひっそりと）行われるということでしたが・・・

いつのまにか、近所の商店街で行われる「七夕灯篭祭り」に合わせて、歩行者天国になった商店街でやることになってる～

（これは・・・無理だ・・・スルーさせていただきます）

Well...that's OK! because we just wanted to enjoy from the beginning!

・・・まぁ、もともとお祭り気分だしいっか

And that day...

そして、当日・・・

The competition started at 16:00.

大会開始は16時

We were able to enter this competition 30 minutes before.

If the number of participants was more than 32, the official would select 32 people.

32人以上になったら抽選

Because our motivation was too high, we arrived there before 30 minutes...there were 4 people...add us ...6 people!

気合十分の私たち３０分前に行ってみると・・・

1.2.3.4・・・まだ4人。私たち合わせて6人だ。

One of them was a man over seventy years old, but he seemed to be a good table tennis player who had participated in a master's tournament.

そのうち一人は、70歳超えのおじいさん

とは言っても、卓球のマスターズにも出るほどの実力者らしい

Two young men of them participated in this competition, because they were really disappointed to lose the previous different competition.

二人の若者は、違う場所で行われた「スリッパ卓球」で1回戦負けしたことに悔しくて、ココの大会に来たとのこと。

They seemed really disappointed, because they bought a pair of official slippers and practiced slipper table tennis, and one of them came from Chiba!
Their motivation was great!

どれだけ悔しかったのか、彼らは「公式スリッパ」を購入し、練習してきたのだそうです

しかも一人は千葉から参戦

本気度、ハンパない

Another young man played slipper table tennis with his friends when he was in high school.

もう一人の若者は、高校の時に、いつもスリッパ卓球をして遊んでいたらしい
