This Snowshoe adventure will suit experience and first time snowshoers as long as you are fit and have done lots of summer hiking before:
このスノーシューイベントはスノーシュー経験者、又は暑ノーシュー初心者でも体力があって何度も夏山登山をしたことのある方に向いています。

The Hut : 山小屋
This is a great but very rustic wooden two floor hut that has a large iron fire place and out-house style toilets.
The plan:
Both days is about 3 to 4 hours snowshoeing on flat-ish ground with some climbing but not steep or high.

両日とも割りと平坦なところを３－４時間スノーシューで歩きます。登りもありますが級ではない。

Transport :
交通
Transport to the start of this trek is by your own arrangement by your own car or public transport.
This snowshoe adventure sits just outside Sapporo and you can catch a subway from Sapporo station to Makomanai subway station and from there you can catch a bus.
The bus in winter does not take you the start point but will drop you off about two km away. Leon will meet you there a ferry to the start point.
Once you have signed up Leon will send your the bus details.
スタート地点までは、ご自分の車、又は公共公共交通機関にておこしください。
このイベントの場所は札幌の端の方です。地下鉄真駒内駅からバスで行けます。
冬の間バスはスタート地点まで行きませんが、２キロ手前くらいまでは行きます。
そこからリオンが順にスタート地点まで皆さんを運びます。

H.I.O.C Sapporo Art Park Event: Jan 29th 2012
We had a great event at the Sapporo Art Park on Sunday ( 29th ) .
Shiya-yama Back Country Day Trip
A few members of our back country ski and snowboarding group got together on Jan 21st and did a small peak just out side Sapporo.
It took 3 hours to climb to the top and 40 minutes to ski and snowboard down.
