Haruka-yama 2 Day BC Ski & Snowshoe Trip

5 members of The H.I.O.C out club had a great two day trip to the Hut at Haruka-yama.
It was a nice surprise to get some late season powder.

Soranuma weekend snowshoe trip:

Soranuma weekend snowshoe trip: March 17 - 18 2012.

Four members of the H.I.O.C had a great weekend snowshoe trip to the hut at Soranuma.
Day 1 : started with a 3 hour trek to the hut which was easy. The trail was well worn and easy to follow.
Once at the hut we had collect firewood from under the hut and collect water from the nearby stream .
We were the only people staying at the hut.
Day 2: We did a loop snowshoe trek up to the main lake. There was no trail now we had work by compass and map and the snow was deep and the weather wasn't good but we had a lot of fun. This took us about two hours.
Once back at the hut e had lunch n a hit drink then we headed on our way back to our car which took another two hours.

Mt Shiraoi & Mt Tokushunbetsu Weekend Trip:

On March 10th - 11th 2012. H.I.O.C members Leon and Andres did a weekend trip to Mt Shiraoi and Mt Tokushunbestsu .
On ther Saturday they did Mt Shiraoi and camped out on Saturday night at the foot of Mt Tokushunbestsu and did Mt Tokushunbestsu on Sunday but the weather turned very stormy so they could make it the peak.
