H.I.O.C (Hokkaido International Outdoor Club) was started to bring Japanese and non-Japanese people together who live in Hokkaido and love hiking and other outdoor actives, make new friends and share different cultures and language while enjoying some wonderful outdoor adventures.

Mt Sapporo-dake Spring Day Hike: April 30th
On this hike we went up and climbed to the peak by the way of the Toyotaki route on the Sapporo city side of the mountain and came down on the other side by the way of the Hiyamizu-sawa route on the Jozankei town side, so we went up one side of the mountain and came down the other side.
The whole hike took us 9 hours.

Mt Shokanbetsu-dake:
Leon & Rick from H.I.O.C did a two day trip to Shokanbetsu-dake on April 21 - 22.
The road to the hut was closed so we had to walk about 6 km to the hut which we staied at for the night. The next day did about a 4 hour climb to the peak but couldn't summit because of the very strong alpine winds.
