H.I.O.C (Hokkaido International Outdoor Club) was started to bring Japanese and non-Japanese people together who live in Hokkaido and love hiking and other outdoor actives, make new friends and share different cultures and language while enjoying some wonderful outdoor adventures.

ハイキングや他のアウトドアアクティビティの好きな日本人と日本人ではない人たちが一緒に、アウトドアを楽しみながら、友達を作ったり、異なった文化や言葉を共有できるよう、始まりました。
Mt Shokanbetsu-dake:
Leon & Rick from H.I.O.C did a two day trip to Shokanbetsu-dake on April 21 - 22.
The road to the hut was closed so we had to walk about 6 km to the hut which we staied at for the night. The next day did about a 4 hour climb to the peak but couldn't summit because of the very strong alpine winds.
