Now we were out for a really good
meal. Months ago we had learned to
read a menu from right to left ; and
whatever it said on the menu of the
hotel dining-room, which was fastened
inside the elevastor, it was too much.
We discovered an eating place opposite
the hotel called “Cafeteria.” The prices
were very reasonable, and the people
who owned it were Chinese and very
friendly. There we assembled three
times a day.

もう今や私たちはホテルの外でとても素敵
な食事を取っています．数か月前にメニュー
の右から左へと読む見方を学んでものですか
ら； ホテルのエレベーターの中に張ってあ
るレストランのメニューは高すぎるのでした．
私たちはホテルの向い側に「カフェテリア」
という名の食事場所を見つけました．値段も
お手頃でした．店のオーナーたちは、みんな
中国人でとても気安く接することができまし
た．そこに私たちは毎日3度の食事時に集合
することにしました．
