At breakfast the next morning the
waiters in the dining-room had hardly
work to do. I had come down with
Georg, but the rest of the large round
table which had been reserved for the
Trapp Family remained empty. After
breakfast I went from cabin to cabin,
and I found my poor children in all
stages of wanting to be dead, the truest
sign of seasickness.

翌日の朝食のとき、船内レストランのボーイ
たちは仕事がほとんどありませんでした．私が
ゲオルクと一緒に下りてくると、トラップ・ファ
ミリー予約席以外、あとの席はすべて空席でした．
朝食後、私は各船室を見回りました．するとどの
部屋でも船酔いで我が子が寝込んでいるのがわか
りました．その程度は軽い船酔いから死んではい
ないが重病人まで様々でした．
