A great thing we had learned on this
trip： that music is an international lan-
guage which speaks from heart to heart
and doesn't need the medidum of a hu-
man tongue. Whether our audience was
French, Dutch, or Italian —— in our music
we could talk to them across the barrier
of a foreign language. We sang to them
what our hearts were so full of： “ God
is so good ! And He is so good to us
all ! Let us forget all quarrelling in the
world and be happy together. Let us love
one another as He loves us !”
Music —— what a powerful instrument,
what a mighty weapon !

この旅行で私たちは偉大なことを学びました．
それは音楽は国境を越える言語であること、そ
れは心から心へと語りかけるものであり、通訳
を必要としないものなのだということです．聴
衆がフランス人であろうと、オランダ人であろ
うと、イタリア人であろうと、私たちの音楽で
外国語というバリアを越えて語りかけることが
できました．私たちは、神はかくも素晴らしい
そして神は私たちを嘉している．世界のあらゆ
るけんかを打ち捨て、共に幸せを享受しよう、
神が私たちを愛するように、私たちお互いを愛
し行こう、という気持ちでいっぱいだったこと
を彼らに歌いました．
音楽は——かくも力強い道具であり、かくも
強力な武器なのです！
