Linux's productivity is so high, but the cost of personnel expenses is not remarkablely higher than Windows system managers. The percentage of managers who get more than 70,000$ as an annual income is 17% of Windows managers and 22% of Linux managers. 60% of Windows managers and 52% of Linux managers get less than 60,000$ in an year.

Is the Linux's cost for management more inexpensive than that of Windows? Micorosoft have insisted that Linux's cost is more expensive than Windows as a part of "Get The Facts" campaign for some years. Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) announced a report, and that indicates that Linux is better at the cost than Windows. This investigation was carried out by the capital offered from Levanta. EMA declared they researched at neutral position and the report has no effect from Levanta.

First Presentation

I did the first presentation for graduation research. I was so strained because there was more people than I expected. I could make the other students laugh in my presentation, so I think the result is good even if my skill of presentation is poor. All my new friends of same lab was very good people. I am happy that I could enjoy talking and preparing for the meeting. I will associate with them for a year at least.

Mt. Fuji from Daichi

Daichi, which is a satellite launched for observing the land last month, took a picture of Mt. Fuji. JAXA opened the picture to the public on the 15th this month. The picture was taken by binocular vision sensor Prism. Prism is equipped for Daichi, and the sensor caught the figure of Mt. Fuji and Shimizukou on the 14th. That's resolution is 2.5 meter. Assorting some images of three cameras, Mt. Fuji is visualized as a bird's-eye view being emphasized the direction of height on twice. This picture is also on the JAXA's homepage.

There was a trouble that some parts of data was not sent from Daichi after launching, but it was recovered afterwards. That will be used to make the map of Asia Pacific region or to grasp the damage at natural disasters from this autumn.
