An electric appliances store
Yamadadenki is one of the biggest electric appliances stores in Japan, and I went to the store to buy a LAN cable. In the entrance, there are some machines that displays a slot-like figure on the screen. Customers can enjoy the slot game before shopping, and that stores some points in the member's card even if winning or not winning the game. Of course customers can get more points when they win the game. I could not win the game, so I just got 100 points. A point equals to an yen in the store. I bought a LAN cable 100 yen cheaper than the original price.
I remembered there was no bread to eat next morning, and I went to a supermarket on the way. Finishing the shopping, I got out from the store and noticed a dog (shibaken) existed at front. It was very cute and well-behaved. I almost tried taking him to my apartment.
Set up
My notebook had not been set to connect to the Internet, so I spent today for the setup. It was very easier to setup fedoracore than I expected. I was really happy when fedoracore connected my PC to the Internet. I am a Linux user from today. My notebook has the multi boot environment of Linux and Windows, so I have to connect Windows to the Internet. That was also easy because Windows is easy operating system. Then, I installed a free anti-virus software.
My LAN cable is too short to use on my table, so I will go to an electric appliances store to buy longer one. I also have to install some IDE.
Japanese keyboard and English keyboard
In my university's computer room, all keyboards are English keyboard. Because of that, I'm so used to typing with English keyboard now. My personal keyboard is Japanese keyboard, and that was so difficult to use. The Ctrl key was especially complicated, so I had changed OS's registry to make Caps Lock work as Ctrl. My keyboard is really useful now.
Music player
I always listen the music with my music player when I go to the university. That is happy walking time. I forget sometimes to charge the music player, and I can not listen the music. In such situation, I charge that at university. I want to be with the music in almost all my life.
The cost of Windows and Linux (part 4)
Mr. Stuart Cohen, who is a CEO of OSDL which is an industry group of Linux, said, "It is said that it needs more cost for employing persons who have a skill of Linux management than Windows management. That have regarded as a big problem for a long time, but I'm glad about the end of such era. Linux become a big flow, and the number of talents increase enough. That makes companies adopt and use Linux managers effectively.
