Human-Flesh Capsules Vex South Korean Authorities
人肉カプセルに韓国当局が手こずる(2)

South Korea's crackdown began last year after SBS, one of the nation's major television broadcasters, ran a documentary accusing Chinese pharmaceutical companies of collaborating with abortion clinics to make capsules from human fetuses and the remains of dead infants. It claimed that DNA tests verified they contained powdered human.
韓国の取り締まりは昨年同国の主要テレビ局の一つ、SBSがドキュメンタリーを放送してから始まった。この番組は中国の製薬会社が妊娠中絶クリニックと協力し、人間の胎児や死亡した乳児の遺体からカプセルを作っている、と非難した。そしてDNA試験で、このカプセルには粉末化された人肉が入っていることが確認された、と主張している。
China's Ministry of Health launched an investigation into the drugs' origins in August, according to the state-owned China Daily. Representatives from the Ministry of Health didn't respond to requests to comment.
中国の保健省は８月にこの薬の原料につき調査を開始した、と国営人民日報は伝えている。保健省担当者はコメントの要求に応えなかった。
Demand has been driven by the belief that fetal pills are a "tonic," the China Daily cited the documentary as saying.
Consumption of human placentas is more common in China, where it is believed to help revive blood supply and circulation, according to the China Daily report.
この薬への需要は胎児を含んだ丸薬は「強壮剤」であるとの信仰に基づいている、と人民日報はドキュメンタリー番組中のコメントとして紹介している。中国では人間の胎盤の消費はより普通である。これは血液生産を活発にし、血行を良くする、と信じられている、と人民日報は伝えている。
