Human-Flesh Capsules Vex South Korean Authorities
人肉カプセルに韓国当局が手こずる(1)
South Korean customs officials are boosting efforts to stamp out illegal smuggling of drugs that are allegedly coming from China. Reason: The capsules supposedly contain human flesh.
韓国税関当局は中国由来とされるドラッグ密輸根絶への努力を倍化させている。その理由：そのカプセルは、人肉を含んでいる、
とされる為である。
Since August, Korean authorities have discovered nearly 17,500 of the human-flesh capsules in the luggage of tourists and in international mail, the state-run Korea Customs Service said Monday.
昨年８月から、韓国当局はほぼ17,500錠の人肉カプセルを発見している。観光客の荷物や、国際郵便の中にである、と韓国税関サービスは月曜日に述べた。
Disguised as performance-enhancement drugs, they have been smuggled in by ethnic Koreans living in northern Chinese cities.
精力剤に偽装されたこれらのドラッグは、中国北部の都市に住む朝鮮族により密輸されて来た。
The statement warned that the capsules contain hazardous bacteria.
税関の発表では、これらのカプセルは有害なバクテリアを含んでいる、と警告している。

allegedly ～ … ～とされる、と伝えられる。

彼らの成績は、評価の中では基準に達しなかった、とされている。
supposedly ～ … ～とされる、推定される。
eg. Supposedly, he was hit by a car around here.
彼は、この辺りで車にひかれた、とされている。
（allegedly, supposedlyの使い分けですが、私の感覚では
allegedlyの方がやや文語的、公文書的な使い方をされるようです。対してsupposedlyは話し手の主観が若干入る場合が多いようですね。）
