Hello, everyone!
Nice to meet you. I am Takashi Aikawa. I was a former teacher of English in high school. I’ve taught English for 42 years. I already retired four years ago.
Now I talk about a brief story in my life.
I was born and brought up in Kawasaki city. Don’t you know Kawasaki city ? It is in Kanagawa prefecture, which is next to our prefecture. I had lived there from a schoolchild to a university student. I graduated from Yokohama City University. I majored in International Relations there. After that, I came to Shizuoka prefecture as a teacher. I started my teaching career from Shimoda city. I taught at a night school for five years. Then, I moved to Fuji city. I taught at a girls’ school for seven years. Then, I moved to Mishima city. I lived there only one year and four months because I built my new house in Susono city in August. I have been living here for more than 30 years. I love Susono because it is full of nature. It is a good place to live in.
I taught at Mishima South high school for ten years. Then, I was transferred to Gotenba high school. I taught there for seven years. After that, I taught at Gotenba South high school for ten years. I enjoyed my teaching very much there. Finally, I taught at Numazu Johoku high school for three years. And then I retired in 2012.
I got married to my wife in Shimoda 44 years ago. I have two sons. My elder son has two children, but my second son is single yet. They live next to my house. Every day, I meet my grandchildren, who are a boy and a girl. Now both are schoolchildren. They are full of vitality. They go to Susono West elementary school.
One of my favorite things to do is to play ‘Go’. ‘Go’ is a traditional game in Japan. It is popular in China and South Korea, but is played all over the world.
Recently, ‘Alphago’ which is AI computer soft beat one of the top world professional players. It was very shocking and surprising news to me. ‘Go’ is a simple but interesting game. Actually it is profound and very difficult. I often enjoy playing it on the Internet.
My recent pleasures are taking photos and writing blogs. I don’ know well what SNS is like, but I’d like to send my messages to every person. Now times have changed to an international society. We Japanese should learn our own history and culture and send them to the world, I think.
That’s all. Thank you very much.
