T： 文の伝達の方法で、直接話法と間接話法がある。
S： 直接話法は、引用符(“…”)を使った伝達の方法ですか。
T： そうです。人の言葉をそのまま伝えるのが、直接話法です。
S： 間接話法はどうなりますか。
T： 人の言葉を話し手が自分の言葉に直して伝えるのが、間接話法です。
S： 具体的に説明して下さい。
T： 「彼は,彼女は遅いねと言った」を英語に直しなさい。
S： He said, “She is late.” です。
T： それが直接話法だ。同じ内容を接続詞を使って言いなさい。
S： He said that she was late.です。
T： 時制の一致を忘れていないね。
S： はい。前に学習しました。
T： 前の復習をしよう。「彼はとても忙しいと言った」を２つの話法で言いなさい。
S： 1) He said, “I am very busy.” (直接話法)
2) He said that he was very busy. (間接話法)
T： 下線部が大事だね。日本人にとっては、間接話法のほうが難しく感じると思う。だから、主に間接話法を勉強しよう。

T： 伝達文(人の言葉を伝える文)の種類の区別が話法のポイントになる。
S： 文の種類に４つある区別ですか。
T： そうだね。
S： １）平叙文 ２）疑問文 ３）命令文 ４）感嘆文の４種類ですね。
T： そうだ。文の種類によって、伝達動詞を使い分ける必要がある。
S： 誰が誰に何を伝達するのかによって、伝達動詞が違ってくることですね。
T：１）平叙文の伝達動詞はtell
２）疑問文の伝達動詞はask
３）命令文の伝達動詞・命令はtell・依頼はask・助言はadviseだ。
tell, askの語法が基本です。tell, askは２つの目的語を取る動詞である。
文型はS + V + O + Oになる。
間接話法のもうひとつのポイントは、接続詞・代名詞・時制・時と場所の副詞だ。

T： ① 彼は私にスポーツが好きだと言った。
② 彼は私にスポーツが好きですかと言った。
③ 彼は私にどんなスポーツが好きですかと言った。
S： ① He told me that he liked sports.
② He asked me if I liked sports.

T： 感嘆文の伝達には公式がないので、これ以上は必要がない。最後に、
