プロのドリフターであるライアン・タークが、ジャッドF1由来のV10エンジンを搭載したA90トヨタスープラのドリフトカーを作るという野心的なプロジェクトに乗り出している。
タークは、ワンオフのフェラーリ458のエンジンを搭載したトヨタ86のドリフトカーのおかげで、ここ数年でかなりの数のヘッドラインを作ってきました。最近のYouTube動画で、新プロジェクトを発表し、このようなドリフトカーを10年前からを作りたいと思っていたと付け加えた。このプロジェクトの全貌は、10月18日に公開される14部作のYouTubeシリーズで詳しく紹介される予定だ。
ジャッドはレース用エンジンの製作経験が豊富で、タークが入手したのはGV4 V10だ。このエンジンは、自然吸気、排気量4.0リッターで、ジャッドがF1で使用していたエンジンから派生したものだが、実際には1999年のアメリカン・ル・マン・シリーズに参戦したラファネリ・ライリー＆スコットLMP1など、スポーツ・レーシング・ワールドカップに参戦する数台の車両に使用されていた。
V10は750馬力を発揮し、11,000rpmまで回転する。ドリフターがどのようにしてこのエンジンを入手したのか、またどのようなトランスミッションを搭載するのかは不明だが、完成したマシンの中で最も狂った2020年のスープラの1台になることは間違いないだろう。
10年間温めていた夢が、これから実現するそうです。

レース用だけあって、エンジンは、結構コンパクトに見える。
マシンの名称は、Formula Supraになるのだろうか？
ターボエンジンのようなトルク型ではなく、太くないトルクを高回転まで回して馬力を出す（回転馬力仕様）NAエンジンなので、ドリフト仕様のトレンドからは外れているが、このマシンの売りは甲高い排気音でしょう。
どんなマシンになるか楽しみであった。

For 10 years I have waited to connect the dots in order for this to happen, I never knew what chassis I would use but it was always about the JUDD engine even before the Ferrari swapped 86.
