13段ギヤのシフトは、後部ベアリングギアがドライブシャフト上を移動、ギヤ・プレート上を移動させることによって動作する。シフト切り替えは、ステアリングマウントされたスイッチを介して行われ、無線信号によりドライブシャフトに送られる。ドライブシャフトの内部には、無線レシーバ、バッテリ、電動モータ、および信号を前後運動に伝達するボールネジがある。
上は、フィーリング訳です（笑）
画像の状態で完成しており、シフトワイヤーが無いと思ったら、電動無線式だそうです。
ドライブシャフトのカットモデルを観察すると、電池には「18650」て書いてあります。
シャフトを抜かなくてもホイールが交換できるように、ホイールは真後ろに外すようです。
壊れても、シャフトかスプロケットを交換すれば良いだけで、至ってシンプル。
耐久性に関係するだろうスプロケットの歯厚も、従来のスプロケットと同じくらいか少し厚い。
ベアリングの外輪とスプロケットが接して動力を伝達、外輪は回転するので摩耗も少ないと予想されます。
セラミックスピード社は、セラミックベアリングや特殊コーティングを施した低抵抗チェーンを製造しているところで、パワートレインやフリクションに関してはスペシャリストです。
これ密かにパワー対策が可能なら、自動車やバイクにも応用が効くかもしれない。

CeramicSpeed used Eurobike to show off its Driven 13-speed pinion drive shaft concept, which swaps derailleurs and chains for a drive shaft that it claims provides 49% less friction with a near 99% efficient drivetrain.
