アメリカ・アラスカ州のクルーズ寄港地「アイシー・ストレート・ポイント（Icy Strait Point）」は、主に 2016年 と 2021年 に大規模な拡張・リニューアルを行いました。
主なリニューアルの歴史は以下の通りです：
- 2016年: テンダーボート（クルーズ避難ボート）による沖合からの上陸方式を廃止し、大型クルーズ船が直接接岸できる最初の桟橋「アドベンチャー・ランディング」が完成しました。これに伴い、ビジターセンターやレストランなどの施設も拡張されました。
- 2021年: ノルウェージャンクルーズラインと先住民族のフーナ・トテム社との提携により、第2の桟橋「ウィルダネス・ランディング」と、山頂へ向かう新たなゴンドラシステムが完成し、大きな拡張リニューアルを迎えました。

Icy Straight Point in Alaska has been completely renewed.
Icy Strait Point, a cruise port in Alaska, USA, underwent major expansions and renovations, primarily in 2016 and 2021.
The main renovation history is as follows:
2016: The method of disembarking from offshore via tender boats was discontinued, and the first pier, "Adventure Landing," allowing large cruise ships to dock directly, was completed. Along with this, facilities such as the visitor center and restaurants were also expanded.
2021: Through a partnership between Norwegian Cruise Line and the indigenous Huna Totem, a second pier, "Wilderness Landing," and a new gondola system leading to the mountaintop were completed, marking a major expansion and renovation.

Icy Strait Point is a popular cruise port in Hoonah, Chichagov, Alaska, owned and operated by the indigenous people. Surrounded by unspoiled nature, it offers one of the world's largest ziplines, whale watching, and Tlingit cultural experiences.

至るところに「アメリカミズバショウ」
"American skunk cabbage" everywhere

北アメリカの太平洋岸（アラスカからカリフォルニア州）にかけて分布しています。
白い日本のミズバショウに対し、アメリカミズバショウは鮮やかな黄色の仏炎苞（ぶつえんほう）をつけます。
It is distributed along the Pacific coast of North America (from Alaska to California).
Unlike the white Japanese skunk cabbage, the American skunk cabbage has a bright yellow spathe.

受粉のために甲虫などを引き寄せるため、スカンクのような強い匂い（悪臭）を放つのが特徴です。そのため英語名では「アメリカスカンクキャベツ」と呼ばれています。
It is characterized by emitting a strong, skunk-like odor (foul smell) to attract beetles and other insects for pollination. Therefore, its English name is "American skunk cabbage."
