World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth recently got shook with the addition of an island. And just like, that the namesake world just got bigger and much more exciting. The island in question is none other than Kul Tiras. If it sounds familiar to you, that’s because it’s where Archmage Jaina Proudmoore and her father Admiral Daelin Proudmoore hails from. From the graveyard of forgotten relics to a huge port of sea priests and pretty much everything in between, here are the Kul Tiras places that are worth exploring.
Go get your WoW mount because we’re going island-trekking!
Beginning With Junk
Let’s start small and simple with the Abandoned Junkheap. Yes, you read that right; it’s an actual junk heap. But it’s by no means a garbage dump; rather, it’s more like piles of all sorts of anachronistic Azerothian tech in some crevice. It’s in the island nation of Kul Tiras, hidden in the place’s typical fantasy hills and greenery.
The best time to visit this hidden gem of a place would be around the afternoon, as the gold-tinged leaves, as well as the bronze and rust-colored things lying on the ground all, combine to give a breathtaking sight. No need for an Instagram filter!
This place, however, isn’t a walk in a park full of lost tech. If and when you go here, be ready for a fight because robot dogs call the Abandoned Junkheap home. Check out the V-300 SENTRY, which looks like your typical canine assault automaton. As if that wasn’t bad (or challenging) enough, there’s also a mechanical panther in the place. It looks pretty cool and would be a good pet for a Gnome Hunter.
Unfortunately, aside from admiring the scenery and scrapping robots modeled after carnivores, there isn’t anything else to do in the Abandoned Junkheap. Nevertheless, it’s still a unique place that’s well worth a visit—if only at least once. Maybe you can even make it your own official not-so-secret hangout. Better yet, why not tell your friends about it, and maybe this spot could turn into a sort of unofficial go-to place?
Nautical Blessings
Other than the Abandoned Junk Heap, there are other places in Kul Tiras that you should definitely see, thanks to Blizzard working really hard on the aesthetics department. For starters, there’s Stormsong Valley. Being in Kul Tiras, the place has a nautical theme and is very much dedicated to seafaring. It’s got a port where almost all ships from the area should pass through in order to be blessed, making them unique and more wanted by the Alliance.
Speaking of blessings, Stormsong Valley has a five-player dungeon called Shrine of the Storm, which is where sea priests pray and cleanse themselves. It’s something that they have to do on a regular basis, as these supposedly holy men and women are facing a curse.
Druids and Pirates
Next would be Drustvar, a forested mountainous region that supplies weapons to all of Kul Tiras. Other than providing arms, Drustvar is also known for its druidic and witchy magic, as well as being the former home of the now-gone Drust people, a large and tenacious druidic race, thus the name of the area.
Last, but most definitely least, is the Tiragarde Sound, an area that’s overrun by pirates and therefore has an abundance of WoW gold. With Kul Tiras being an island, it’s no surprise that it’s going to have a place full of seafaring scallywags. Thus, it’s only fitting for it to have two dungeons: Freehold, a pirate stronghold, and Siege of Boralus, which is a max-level dungeon.
Junkyards, ports, and pirate coves – these places exemplify just how diverse Kul Tiras is. So if you don’t know where you should go in Battle for Azeroth, Kul Tiras would be a great place to start.
