I don't go to concerts very actively in Japan because the summers are too hot. This year, however, I will be going to three concerts in August.
The first is Hatsune Miku's Magical Mirai 2024.
I have successfully obtained tickets for the August 31 show at Makuhari Messe. I was so impressed by the live video of Hatsune Miku and Kodo at last year's concert that I was inspired to go to a non-classical concert for the first time in my life.
The other two are concerts by the Arditti String Quartet. This is part of the Suntory Hall Summer Festival 2024 project.
As I have written in my blog, I love contemporary string quartets. Especially when the Arditti String Quartet performs music by Elliott Carter and Brian Ferneyhough, it is impossible to miss. There may not be a second time in my lifetime.
