US-NH LM5056 Lowell Mason codex

This is a 17th century manuscript in the collection of Yale University. The number of pieces included in the collection may increase or decrease depending on the method of accounting, but if we treat the suite set as a single piece, the total number of pieces is 79.

 Here is the cover of the manuscript as downloaded.

Not all of the pieces in this manuscript are suitable for recorder ensemble since they are mainly for keyboard. Among them, the pieces by Nikolaus Adams Strungk, which are written in four-step notation, are suitable for recorder ensemble.

No.22 = No.26 Ricercar in g (Anonymous) --- Double Theme Fugue

The reason there are two numbers is that for some reason this piece is included in duplicate.

It is my own impression, but I think Ricercar has many works in double fugue form.

bar1-35 : A part, Theme 1

bar35-43 : B part, Theme 2 (+ Theme 1)

 bar43-51 : C part, Theme 1 Stretta

bar51-71 : D part, Theme 1 + 2
