String Quartet No.18 Kv.464 mov.2 Minuetto - Trio
The formula for the four-movement arrangement seems to be that the second movement is a slow movement and the third movement is a minuet. To tell the truth, I do not know when and by whom this formula was established. However, almost all of Haydn's symphonies and string quartets follow this formulation. However, Mozart sometimes broke this formula and put a minuet in the second movement and a slow movement in the third movement. My personal impression is that this measure is taken when the slow movement is large in scale.
