No.68 (William Byrd) "I ioy not in no earthlie blisse"

  This song is included in "Psalmes, Sonnets and Songs" as one of the Sonnets and Pastorals. The lyrics originally have four verses, but as usual, Dow wrote only the first verse. Also, as usual, Dow wrote only the first verse, and no other lyrics except for Mus-984 (Superius = Soprano).
 The CPDL suggests that Edward Dyer (1543-1607) may be the author of the lyrics, but we were unable to investigate this.

             I force not Cresus welth a strawe:

             I feare not fortunes fatall lawe.
