That evening, Hazuki sat at her desk, still smiling as she gently touched her lips—Koki’s words repeated in her mind like a gentle wave:

The next morning, everything seemed ordinary on the surface. But to Hazuki, the world looked just a little brighter.
When she entered the kitchen, Koki was already there, helping Miha cut vegetables. Their eyes met for a second—something warm flickered between them.
Hazuki quickly looked away, but not without a smile.
At school, Mizuki flopped down next to her at lunch. “You’re acting weird,” she said, poking Hazuki’s arm with her chopsticks.
Hazuki blinked. “Huh?”
“You’ve been staring at nothing and smiling like you’re in a drama.”
Hazuki laughed nervously. “Is it that obvious?”
Before Mizuki could press further, Mana joined them. “Morning! Hey—did something happen yesterday? You two disappeared before the group chat even started.”
Hazuki looked flustered, but before she could answer, a voice behind them spoke.
“Oh, it’s nothing. Just aquarium magic.”
All three girls turned—Koki stood there with his tray, tone completely casual.
Hazuki stared at him. Did he just say that out loud?
Mizuki raised an eyebrow. “Wait… what did you two do at the aquarium?”
Koki gave a faint smile. “Looked at fish.” Then he sat down and opened his milk carton.
Hazuki’s face burned. Mizuki cackled, Mana looked suspicious, and Koki… simply kept eating.
But beneath it all, something had quietly changed between them. And though none of them knew what would come next—friendship, rivalry, heartbreak, or something else entirely—Hazuki felt ready for it.
Because now, she was no longer just his older sister.

第12章：誰も気づかなかった変化
その夜、葉月は自室の机に座り、うっすら笑みを浮かべながらそっと唇に触れた。光輝のあの言葉が、波のように繰り返し胸に響く――
「もう、弟でいたくないかもしれない。」
翌朝。世界は変わらず回っているようだった。でも葉月にとっては、何もかもが少しだけ輝いて見えた。
キッチンに入ると、光輝が美葉と一緒に野菜を切っていた。目が合った瞬間、ふっとやわらかな空気が流れる。
葉月は視線をそらしながらも、自然と微笑んでいた。
学校で、昼休み。美月が隣にドサッと座る。
「なんか今日、様子変じゃない？」と箸で葉月の腕をつつく。
「え？」と葉月はとぼける。
「なんかずっとニヤニヤしてて、昼ドラのヒロインみたいなんだけど？」
葉月は慌てて笑う。「そんなに分かる？」
そこへ真菜がやってきた。「おはよ～。てかさ、昨日何かあった？グルチャ始まる前に二人とも消えてたじゃん。」
葉月は言葉を詰まらせるが、その前に後ろから声が響いた。
「何でもないよ。ちょっと水族館マジックがあっただけ。」
3人が振り返ると、光輝がトレーを持って立っていた。まるで何気ない口調で。
葉月は心の中で叫んだ。今それ言う！？
美月は眉を上げ、「え、ちょっと待って。あんたら水族館で何したの？」
光輝は微笑を浮かべると、「魚見ただけ。」と言って牛乳パックを開ける。
葉月の顔が真っ赤になる。
美月は爆笑し、真菜は目を細めて訝しげに見つめる。
そして光輝は、黙々と食べ続けた。
でも、その静かな空気の下で――たしかに、何かが変わっていた。
これからどうなるかなんて分からない。友情、ライバル心、すれ違い――そのどれもが待ち受けているかもしれない。
でも今の葉月は、もうただの「お姉ちゃん」じゃない。
