願書を出すにあたって学校の成績、TOEFLやSAT等のスコアはもちろん大切ですが、エッセイは特に合否を左右する重要なものとなっております。今回は大学受験の成功にたどり着く願書エッセイの書き方のコツをお伝えしていきたいと思います。
エッセイを書き始める前に、希望校のリサーチをし大学側の方針を理解しましょう。どのような生徒を好んで受け入れしているのかは大学のウェブサイトにて掲載されております。
そして次に頭に入れておくことは大学によってエッセイの質問が異なることです。大学ごとにエッセイのプロンプトをしっかり理解しクリアに答えることが重要です。
また大体の大学願書のエッセイは１つだけではありません。例えば、今年は私立大学であるぺパダイン大学のエッセイは２つそしてUC（University of California）の大学はエッセイが４つもあります！締め切りギリギリに書き始めるものではないので、願書のポータルがあきましたらすぐにエッセイプロンプトのノートをとり、書き始めましょう。
他に気を付けることはユニークで個性的なエッセイに仕上げる事。自分の経験をより具体的に感情を表しながら書きましょう。堅苦しく機械的なエッセイは受けが良くありません。物語を描いてるかのようにエッセイを展開させますとより良い印象を与えることが出来ます。
最後に、絶対に英語が分かる先生や知人数人に校正をして貰いましょう。これは誰もがやってるプロセスでより良いエッセイに仕上げることが出来ます。

As you may already know, we are in the middle of college application season in the US!
GPA, TOEFL and SAT scores are of course important in the application process; however, the personal statement is especially important in determining your acceptance in colleges. Today, I’d like to share some tips on how to write a personal statement that will lead you to success in the college application process.
Before you start writing your essay, research the school you want to apply to and understand the philosophy of the college you are applying to. You can find out, one their university websites, what kind of students they prefer to accept.
The next thing to keep in mind is that different colleges have different essay questions. It's important to understand the essay prompts for each college and answer them clearly.
Something else to keep in mind is that many colleges require more than just one essay. For example, this year, Pepperdine University requires two essays, and the UC colleges require four! Do not start writing at the last minute. Make sure to take notes on the essay prompts, and start writing as soon as the application portals open up.
Make sure your essays are unique and centered on your unique experience. Put your feelings into it, provide examples and be specific. Cliché essays that sound mechanical will not be well-received. You will make a better impression if you let your essay unfold as if you were writing a story.
Finally, you should definitely get a few teachers or acquaintances who have experience in English writing to proofread your essay. This is a process that everyone employs, and it will help you to make your essay better.
