Congratulations to the Boys JV Bowling team for defeating the Saint Louis Blue team in a 3-game roll-off to claim the ILH JV title on Friday night. They had solid contribution throughout the season from all of their team members: Dylan Yoshikawa '22, Chrisitan Campos '21, Dillon Shintani '22, Jase Ide '22, Dylan Dinio '21, Jacob Ikeda '22, and Matthew Nakamoto '21. The boys were coached by Alan Acierto and Kevin Kaneshiro.
ILH CHEERLEADING COMPETITION
The cheerleaders wrapped up their competitive season Thursday night at the ILH Cheer Championships at Kamehameha School. All three teams had great performances in an extremely talented ILH competition. The Intermediate squad placed 4th, missing 3rd by just .75 points. The JV squad placed 3rd and will be at the HHSAA State Cheer Competition on Nov. 9th. The Varsity team performed a flawless routine were just 1.25 points short of 3rd place.
The cheerleaders will continue supporting our Varsity Football team in their own quest for a koa trophy. It doesn’t stop there, as all three Cheerleading teams will then be seen court side cheering for the girls and boys basketball teams into the new year. We are so proud of our Raider Cheerleaders!
JV TENNIS
Thursday October 24, was the culmination of the JV tennis season with a hard fought boys championship match against Punahou Blue at 'Iolani. The boys came up just short losing 3-2 matches. Both 1st doubles and 2nd singles went to third set tiebreakers. The match could have gone either way. We are proud of how hard the team fought. The boys ended up with a record of 11-3 and runner up in the ILH championships.
The girls had a fantastic season as well with a final record of 10-3. They played Punahou Blue in the semifinal round of the playoffs on Tuesday and lost a close match 3-2. The Raider girls finished the season with a 2nd place finish. Congrats to both teams for competing well and playing with class. Thank you coaches Alex Aybar, Jay Visaya, George Asato, Chet Blanton, and Sara Yoshinaga ‘07 for a job well done. Go Raiders!
FOOTBALL
The varsity football team punched its ticket to the HHSAA Division I State Championship Tournament with a gutsy 21-14 victory over Damien in an ILH playoff game on Friday night at Aloha Stadium.
Our Raiders (9-2) now await the seeding of the tournament to see if they will play a first-round game on Nov. 15 or be placed in the semifinals, which will be played on Nov. 23.
