`Iolani Special Programs presents Dance Spectrum 2019 to a sold-out crowd on Sunday, April 7 at Leeward Community College.
An innovative, contemporary dance concert featuring jazz, ballet, hula, gymnastics, theatrical dance and the `Iolani Dance Team. Over 150 students participated in this show and an ENCORE performance will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 4pm in the `Iolani Lower Gym.
Lab Performance
The Lab Creative Arts Studio, famous for winning the Season 2 competition on the NBC television show "World of Dance," shared their inspirational "Believe the Dream" message and performed for a large crowd of Upper and Lower School students during lunchtime on Tuesday.
The Lab is led by world-renowned hip-hop choreographer and dancer Sienna Lalau, who was a choreographer for our own 'Iolani Dance Team two years ago, when she was just 16-years-old.
E-sports Team 1 remains undefeated 6-0
On Tuesday, April 15th, 2019, 'Iolani School's two undefeated esports teams competed against each other in an official HHSAA/PlayVS Hawai'i League of Legends match. RaidersTeam 1 (RT1) and RaidersTeam 3 (RT3) both played valiantly. At the end of the competition, RT1 won both matches and remains undefeated at 6-0 in the regular season. RT1 continues to lead the league in Win%, Eliminations (Per Match Average), Assists (Per Match Average), First Elimination Rate, Baron Elimination Average, and Gold Per Minute.
The final matches of the regular season are scheduled for next Tuesday, April 23rd at 4 PM. RT1 is scheduled to compete against Leilehua High School, RT2 takes on Honokaa High & Intermediate, and RT3 is matched up against Hawaii Preparatory Academy. Playoffs begin on Thursday, May 2nd.
