今回は、パレスチナに関する短文を紹介しますが、その前におさらいです。

ファタハとハマス
土地をめぐり、イスラエル人とパレスチナ人が長年、紛争を起こしているのは知っていると思いますが、今回、ニュースになっているのは、ガザ地区というところです。
パレスチナ人が自治区という形で住んでいる地域が二つあって、それぞれ、
ヨルダン川西岸地区
ガザ地区
と呼びます。地図上では、「ヨルダン側」となっていますが、これは誤植です。
ヨルダン川西岸地区は、今は亡きアラファトが立ち上げた「ファタハ」が支配している地域です。ファタハは１９９３年のオスロ合意後は、穏健的な立場であり、領土問題の平和的な解決を目指しています。
一方のガザ地区を支配しているのが「ハマス」です。オスロ合意を否定し、あくまでも武力でカタをつけようとしている勢力です。もともとは草の根的な勢力であり、教育・医療・福祉の活動を続けることでパレスチナ人からの支持を集めてきました。
ヨルダン川西岸地区 ： ファタハ支配（穏健派）
ガザ地区 ： ハマス支配（過激派）
２００７年にハマスがガザ地区からファタハ勢力を追放してから両者は対立関係にありましたが、２０１１年の４月に共同声明を出し、対立を解消しています。
まとめるとこうなる。イスラエルは、民衆が虐殺されているシリアとも国境を接している。立地条件悪すぎる。
イスラエルとハマスの対立が激化
ハマスはこれまでイスラエル領土内に対し、頻繁にミサイル攻撃を繰り返してきました。イスラエル側は対抗処置として空爆を実施、２０１２年の１１月１４日にはハマスの軍事部門最高幹部を殺害します。結果、さらにミサイルと空爆の応酬が激化しました。
一時はイスラエルが地上軍を投入する準備をするというところまで事態が緊迫化しましたが、エジプトの介入のもと、停戦に向けた協議が進められ、１１月２３日に停戦することで両者は合意しました。
現在も停戦状態は守られていますが、緊張が強いられる状態が続いています。
