D: OK, everyone, it's time to practice. I know what you're thinking. "Wow, these are so long." Each of these has a situation and a request. To make this easy to practice, let's just use part of the situation and then the request, OK?
R: That's right. So just listen to our example and repeat after us, OK?
・I'm expecting an important phone call, but I need to get in the shower. Will you answer my phone if it rings?
・The company baseball team has a game this weekend, but one of our players got sick. We need someone to fill in. Could you?
・I really want to meet the band in person, but I can't get backstage without an invite. I was wondering if you could get me on the list.
