2012年5月8日、午前5時。ネパールの首都カトマンズ、バグマティ河畔。
Around 1,000 people living in the settlement約1,000人がその居留地で暮らしていました。
About 3,000 security personnel were deployed to evacuate the land from 5:00 am , restricting people ’s movement completely .午前5時、その土地から立ち退かさせるために、およそ3000人の保安要員が配置されました。そして、人びとの行動を完全に制限しました。
この内、約1800人が武装警察でした。
Around 1,800 Armed Police Force ( APF ) and Nepal Police personnel were used in the operation .約1800人の武装警察、そしてネパール警察の職員がその作戦に従事しました。

Panic stricken children and women were seen crying out in despair as the bulldozers started to wreak havoc at six in the morning .朝6時、ブルドーザーが大破壊をもたらし始めたので、パニックに襲われた子供たちや女性たちが絶望で泣き叫んでいる姿が見られました。Others living farther upstream were exerting pressure to not evacuate the houses .より上流に住んでいる他の人々は、家を壊させないように圧力をかけました。But they later removed their belongings after seeing the bulldozers ruthlessly flattening even the furnished houses .しかし、彼らは、ブルドーザーが冷酷に家具付きの家さえ倒していくのを見て、その後、所持品を運び出すことになるのです。A primary school inside the settlement , with over 150 students , was also demolished .居留地内にある（生徒数150人以上を抱える）小学校もまた破壊されました。

しかし、事態は次第に暴力化していきました。
The situation turned violent as the squatters pelted stones to block five government bulldozers from destroying their houses and belongings while hundreds of police mobilized for the eviction responded with baton charge and tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd .不法居住者たちが、彼らの家や財産を破壊する5台のブルドーザーを止めようとして石を投げつけたので、状況は暴力的になりました。一方、立ち退きのために動員された数百人の警察は、群衆を追い払うために警棒と催涙ガス弾で応酬しました。Dozens of squatters as well as policemen have been injured in the clash .数十人の不法居住者と警官が、この衝突で負傷しました。

Twelve landless squatters were injured in the scuffle with police , three of them critically with head injuries .12人の不法居住者が警察との争いで負傷しました。そのうち３人は頭部の怪我で重傷です。

Five bulldozers completed the demolition work by 11:00 am .午前11時、5台のブルドーザーは解体作業を終えました。
Local nongovernmental organizations report that the demolitions so far have destroyed 257 homes and left 844 people homeless, including 401 children.
地元のNGOの報告によると、257の住宅が破壊され、401人の子どもを含む844人が家を失くしたままにされています。
Among the other displaced , dozens are pregnant and postnatal women .
