| | From iconic Stonehenge to fabled Avalon, the Southwest of England has an ancient history shrouded in mystery. The dramatic coasts and desolate moors inspired centuries of writers with tales of great Kings and ghostly creatures. Historical texts reveal the sinister practice of wrecking, and excavation of some of the oldest sites suggests our ancestors were cannibals. In this talk, we will take a journey through the beautiful landscape of the Southwest. We will stop along the way to sample some of the legends and literature and we may even have time to try some local specialities! | | Lecturer
