the Secret History of Nursery Rhymes

この歌は、1894年に開通したマンチェスター
運河がモチーフになっているといわれています。

よくよく読むと、不吉な歌です。。。
これを底抜けに明るいメロディーで歌うのが、
実にマザーグース的ですよね。

もともとは、子供がスキップ遊びをするために
歌われたそうですが、今は「ロンドン橋」のような
遊戯で歌われているらしいです。
