exist†trace、11年ぶりのニューアルバム「WHO I AM」

exist†trace, New Album “WHO I AM” After 11 Years
Today I'll be writing the self-liner notes again!
「LOOP ON LINK」
この曲は謎解き公演「なぞだらけのカラオケ映像からの脱出」のテーマソングに起用された曲！
この謎解きを制作したよだかのレコードさんから「イグさんの楽しくてポップな曲をテーマソングにしたい」とオファーをいただいたので、
ちょうどライブで演奏していたこの曲を提案したら、「是非この曲がいい！」と気に入ってもらいました。
私も実際に謎解きにチャレンジしたんだけど、テンポ感がちょうどよくて謎解きが捗りました！
「LOOP ON LINK」
This song was chosen as the theme song for the mystery-solving performance “Escape from the Mystery-Filled Karaoke Video”!
Yodaka Records, who produced this mystery, approached me saying, “We want exist†trace's fun and poppy song as our theme song.”
So I suggested this song, which we happened to be playing live at the time, and they loved it, saying, “This song is perfect!”
I actually tried solving the mystery myself, this song’s tempo was just right—it really helped me solve the puzzles!
曲調としては私が得意とする四つ打ちのダンサブルナンバー。
（得意分野は沢山あるけどね）
今までも「HONEY」「CUT IT OUT」など踊れる曲は色々あるけど、
「LOOP ON LINK」はみんなでクラップして楽しめる曲を目指しました。
サビの最後では、「僕らココで繋がってる」のあとにみんなにも「Hey！」と大きな声で叫んでもらいたいな！
もうライブで沢山演奏しているけど、次回以降のライブではさらに思い切り楽しんでね。
The song's rhythm is a danceable four-on-the-floor beat, which is my specialty.
(Though I have many other strengths too)
We've released danceable tracks like “HONEY” and “CUT IT OUT” before,
but with “LOOP ON LINK,” I aimed to create a song everyone can enjoy clapping along to.
At the end of the chorus, I want everyone to shout “Hey!” really loud!
We've played it live many times already, but at future shows, let's enjoy it even more freely.
そしてお次は「SIREN」
この曲は2023年、私たちの19周年イヤーの最後のワンマンにて新曲として披露した曲でした。
アップテンポでMallyのドラムもガンガン攻め、更にサイレン音が楽曲内で鳴り響く緊張感のある曲。
自分はこの世界から排除されるべき存在なのか、と問う主人公も、闇を裂くサイレンをスポットライトに変え、自分の世界を楽しんでいく。
自分の正解は自分で決めていい、そんなメッセージを込めました。
And next up is “SIREN”
This song was debuted as a new track at our final solo concert in 2023, our 19th anniversary year.
It's an up-tempo track with Mally's drums relentlessly driving forward, and the tension builds as siren sounds echo throughout the song.
The protagonist, questioning whether they belong in this world, transforms the siren that pierces the darkness into a spotlight and begins to enjoy their own world.
We infused it with the message that it's okay to decide your own answers.
この曲はテンポが早いのでレコーディングも大変。
Mallyは体力を振り絞り叩きまくり、弦楽器隊は各自自宅レコーディングでしたがそれぞれ腕が痺れるくらい弾きまくったことでしょう。笑
ギターのレコーディングってそれぞれギターを何本も重ねて録っていくので、
私も例に漏れずひーひー言いながら何度も何度も弾いて仕上げました。
ボーカル録りも結構最後まで歌詞の修正を悩んだので、ジョウもどう歌うかを録りながら試行錯誤していたかな。
レコーディングの様子は動画にも撮ってあるので、今後ファンクラブ内などでメイキング動画を公開できたらいいな！
This song's fast tempo made recording it tough.
Mally poured every ounce of energy into pounding away, and while the string section recorded from home, each member must've played until their arms went numb. lol
Recording guitars involves layering multiple takes, so I was no exception—I groaned and grunted my way through countless takes to get it right.
We also agonized over lyric revisions right up until the end of the vocal recording, so Jyo probably experimented with different approaches while we recorded.
We also filmed the recording process, so hopefully we can share a making-of video with the fan club members sometime!
