さて本日のセルフライナーノーツは、「ひとひら」と「閉ざされた世界」。
この2曲はどちらも2021年のバースデーワンマンで、私と乙魅サマがそれぞれ披露した新曲だったよ。
Today's self-liner notes cover “Hitohira” and “Tozasareta sekai”
Both of these songs were new tracks that Omi-sama and I each performed at our 2021 birthday concert.
順番とは逆だけど、先に「閉ざされた世界」をご紹介します！
この曲は乙魅サマがコロナ禍で生み出した楽曲。
私がコロナ禍の想いを「激動」や前作収録の「Garden」として曲にしたのに対し、
やっぱり私とは切り込む角度が違って、それぞれの良さがあっていいなぁと思いました。
Though out of order, let me introduce “Tozasareta sekai” first!
This song was created by Omi-sama during the pandemic.
While I expressed my pandemic feelings through songs like “Gekido” and “Garden” (from the previous album),
her approach was different from mine, and I thought it was great how each had its own strengths.
この曲のイチオシポイントはなんと、乙魅サマのコーラス！
通常乙魅サマの曲でも私が歌のコーラスを録ることが多いんだけど、
この曲は乙魅サマのお声をがっつりと聴けるんです！
後半のジョウとの掛け合いも乙魅サマなので、しっかり聴いて堪能してね。
そして個人的にはコーラスが少ない分、ギターではフレーズを沢山弾いているので、そこも是非聴いてほしいな。
The absolute highlight of this song is none other than Omi-sama's backing vocals!
Even on Omi-sama's regular tracks, I often end up recording the vocal harmonies myself,
but this song lets you hear Omi-sama's voice in full force!
The call-and-response with Jou in the latter half is also Omi-sama, so listen closely and savor it.
And personally, since there are fewer harmonies, I played a lot more guitar phrases—so please listen for those too.
「ひとひら」
この曲は淡い恋が散ったラブソングとして、
そして20代で亡くなってしまった私の弟へ向けた曲として、
ふたつの聴き方ができるように作りました。
“Hitohira”
This song was created to be heard in two ways:
as a love song about a tender romance that has faded,
and as a song dedicated to my younger brother,
who passed away in his twenties.
突然いなくなってしまった弟のことを想うと辛すぎて、一時期は曲を作るのもSNSを更新するのもあまりできなかった。
私には音楽がある、この辛さは音楽で昇華させよう、そう思って3年、ようやくきちんとあの出来事と向き合い、生まれたのが「ひとひら」です。
私が一番好きな花は桜。桜ソングは世界に沢山あるけれど、私が作る桜ソングは一生に一曲でいい。
自分唯一の桜ソングを作る覚悟が決まるまで、ずっと作らないでいました。
弟がいなくなってしまったのは桜の時期を少し過ぎたころ。
あの時の気持ちに向き合えた時、自然と「ひとひら」という単語とメロディーが浮かんで、生涯唯一の桜ソングを作って弟に捧げようと決めました。
Thinking about my brother who suddenly disappeared was too painful, and for a while I couldn't really write songs or update my social media.
I have music. I'll sublimate this pain through music. Thinking that for three years, I finally faced that event properly, and what was born was “Hitohira.”
My favorite flower is the cherry blossom. While there are countless cherry blossom songs in the world, but I decided I only needed to create one such song in my lifetime.
I held off on writing it until I was truly ready to create my one and only cherry blossom song.
My brother passed away just after the cherry blossom season had ended.
When I was finally able to confront those feelings, the word “Hitohira (=a single petal)” and its melody came to me naturally.
I decided to create this one-of-a-kind cherry blossom song and dedicate it to my brother.
歌詞もサウンドも、ほとんど全部私のデモ曲通りにバンドが仕上げてくれて、
全部が私の想像通り、私の理想通りに完成しました。
この曲を仕上げられて、そしてようやくアルバムに収録して沢山の人に届けられてよかった。
私と一緒に心を痛めた家族にも、聴いてもらいたい。
そして大切な人が去っていってしまったあなたの心にも、届きますように。
Both the lyrics and the sound were finished by the band almost exactly as I had envisioned in my demo,
and everything turned out exactly as I had imagined, exactly as I had hoped.
I'm so glad we were able to complete this song, and finally include it on the album to share with so many people.
I want my family, who shared my heartache, to hear it too.
And I hope this song reaches to your heart too, if someone precious has left you.
