[１９日 ロイター] - 米政界の名門ケネディ家の一員で反ワクチン活動家のロバート・ケネディ・ジュニア氏（６９）は１９日、２０２４年大統領選の民主党候補指名争いへの出馬を表明した。
同氏は故ロバート・ケネディ元米司法長官の息子で １９６３年に暗殺されたジョン・Ｆ・ケネディ元大統領のおいに当たる。再選に意欲を示すバイデン大統領に挑むことになるが、勝利はほぼ期待できないとみられている。
ボストンで開いた支持者集会でケネディ氏はワクチンに言及せず、当選したら慢性疾患の研究を優先課題にすると表明した。
同氏はワクチンや新型コロナウイルスのパンデミック（世界的大流行）に関する誤った情報を広めたとして、動画共有サービスのユーチューブや画像共有アプリのインスタグラムの利用を制限されている。
